Colored stones have no price list. So we show you ours.

A sapphire can cost $40 or $4,000 a carat and look the same in a photo. Every pair here lists what we paid for the stones, the mounting and our fee, so the price explains itself.

How TrueSanity pricing works

Which gemstones hold up as everyday studs?

Studs take knocks from phones, pillows and hairbrushes, so hardness matters more here than in a pendant. Anything 8 or above wears like a diamond; 7 is fine with a little care; below 7 is for occasional wear or a protective bezel.

Choosing gemstone studs

Colored stones are sold by millimeter, not carat, because density differs: a 5 mm sapphire weighs about 0.65 ct, a 5 mm emerald about 0.5 ct. Pick the size first, then the stone. White gold sharpens cool colors; yellow gold deepens warm ones. Emerald goes either way.
